High School Applicants and Other Entering Students
FAFSA - Federal School Code 002798
To be considered for financial aid, high school applicants and other entering students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at StudentAid.gov. Students should include our Federal School Code to ensure their FAFSA is received by our office.
The FAFSA should be submitted no later than March 1, Pratt Munson’s recommended filing deadline. Students who complete a FAFSA after March 1 may jeopardize their eligibility for certain financial aid programs.
Students are automatically considered for all types of financial aid after an admissions decision has been made and their FAFSA information has been received by Pratt Munson. If requested and required by the federal government, other documents, such as federal tax returns, may be requested by the Financial Aid Office.
Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) - NYS TAP Code 0615
New York State Residents Only
After successful transmission of your FAFSA application, you will receive an email message directing you to the HESC website to complete the New York State Student Aid Payment Application.
First-time users will need to create a HESC username and PIN. The application should be completed by May 30, Pratt Munson’s recommended filing deadline.
Students will receive confirmation from HESC once their application has been completely processed. If additional information is needed to complete the application, a Request for Information Form will be received from HESC.
Verification Process
The federal government may require students to provide additional paperwork to Pratt Munson, so information submitted on their FAFSA can be reviewed and verified.
Verification of family income, household size, assets, and investments may be required. Forms such as tax returns, W2s, and various verification worksheets may need to be provided to the school.
Pratt Munson will notify all students selected for the verification process by email. Verification paperwork should be returned to the school by May 15 so financial aid eligibility can be finalized.
Award Letter
Once all financial aid applications and verification paperwork has been submitted to the school, the Financial Aid Office will mail the student their financial aid offer. Any revisions to the award offer will be emailed to the student.
Students are considered for several types of financial aid, including scholarships, grants, work study, and federal student loans. Students do not need to apply for each type of financial aid separately. All types of aid for which the student qualifies will be included in their financial aid award offer. Students should return a signed copy of their offer to the Financial Aid Office by June 1, so their financial aid can be finalized and applied to their student account.
