Michael Parks is an art historian, researcher, and educator whose work explores nineteenth- and early twentieth-century British art, British Orientalism, Persian art, and queer rhetorical strategies in art history. He teaches at Pratt Munson, where he leads courses in Themes in Art & Culture and Art since the 60s, and has also held teaching and mentorship roles at Syracuse University. His scholarship and public programming aim to create engaging connections between historical and contemporary art while expanding conversations beyond the traditional Western canon.
