Inspired by the Black Lives Movement and published in 2017, followed by a 2018 movie, this book by Angie Thomas is still timely and relevant to the current socio-cultural climate. Originally billed as a YA (young adult) novel, this contemporary story follows the experiences of a teenage girl living in two worlds and resonates with adults of all ages.
