We are lucky to benefit from the Munson Artist-in-Residence program, which allows one emerging artist to live, work, and teach right on our campus. This year we happily welcomed Felipe López into our creative community ✨ Felipe showed his dedication to teaching and expertise in drawing in the Pratt Munson program, community arts, and Museum programming. Felipe connected his country and Colombian culture, exploration of colonialism, and interest in archives with Munson’s collection and Utica’s monuments in a sophisticated exhibition of artworks at the Museum of Art Pratt Munson Gallery earlier this year. Though his residency is now over, we look forward to seeing what he's up to next! He returned to Boston, and then to Columbia to continue teaching and making inspiring work in his home city of Bogotá. We do not doubt that Felipe’s skills, creativity, research, and teaching will continue to make an impact on the artistic community there. 💛
